Archaeological Evidence of Egypt - Santorini Link
From article: Egyptian archaeologists (today) announced that they have unearthed traces of solidified lava on the northern coast of Sinai that date to around 1500 B.C.—supporting accounts that ancient Egyptian settlements were buried by a massive volcanic eruption in the Mediterranean, they say. The archaeological team, led by Mohamed Abdel Maqsoud of Egypt's Supreme Council for Antiquities, found houses, military structures, and tombs encased in ash, along with fragments of pumice, near the ancient Egyptian fortress of Tharo, on the Horus military road. Tharo is located close to El Qantara, where the Nile Delta meets the Sinai peninsula. According to Zahi Hawass, secretary general of the council, the lava and ash hail from Santorini, an eastern Mediterranean volcano that has been linked to the myth of Atlantis. The new find seems to confirm accounts from ancient artwork and documents that recount the destruction of coastal cities in Egypt and Palestine during the 15th dynasty (1650-1550 B.C.)
NIV ARCHEOLOGICAL STUDY BIBLE, P. 123:
“According to Exodus 19 … Mount Sinai blazed with fire, was enveloped by a huge plume of cloud or smoke and shook violently as in an earthquake. Flashes of lightning and sounds like trumpet blasts also occurred. The description fits a a volcanic eruption. The emission of hot gases from fissures can produce trumpet-like sounds, and observers have reported seeing massive electrical displays emanatin...g from volcanic clouds. No volcanoes are known to have erupted during that period in the Sinai Peninsula, but Arabia has many volcanoes. One volcanic mountain in the western Arabian Peninsula, Hala al Bedr (Mount Bedr), is according to this theory a particularly promising candidate for ancient Mount Sinai.”

ANCIENT ART WORK:
There are people writing about it.. But don't expect the church, biblical scholars, or anyone with invested interest in the religion to write about it. So we get something Like this interesting post from someone named "Zid".. This post gives perhaps some perspective of the experience of those in the Exodus narrative:
Another interesting coincidence is the similarity between the 'sign of god' that led the Isra-EL-ites out of Egypt, in Exodus 13: 21-22 and Exodus 14: 19-20: "The Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to lead them on their way during the day and in a pillar of fire to give them light at night, so that they could travel day or night. The pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night never left its place in front of the people..." "The pillar of cloud moved from in front of them and stood behind them. It came between the Egyptian and Isra-EL-ite forces. The cloud was there [in] the darkness, yet it lit up the night..."
(Which indicates that, as they traveled, the geographical landmark - probably an erupting volcano, as I will show in a moment - came to be situated behind them as they progressed northward...)
Here's a description [from the Time/Life book "Volcano", part of their "Planet Earth" series printed in 1982, pages 33 - 37...], the aftermath of the eruptions of Mount Pelee' on the island of Martinique, beginning with the eruption on May 8th, 1902 that produced a pyroclastic flow that killed 30,000+ people in the capital city of St. Pierre: [the team of volcanologists present after the first eruption were fortunate to observe another one on July 9th, 1902...] "Anderson and Flett were offshore, cruising past St. Pierre in a sailboat (geologist Jaggar was...in Fort-de-france, 12 miles away) when in the gathering darkness they saw a dull red glow suffuse the summit of Pelee. The glow became brighter and brighter until the whole scene was brightly illuminated, and the sailors cried in terror: "The mountain bursts!" The men watched in awe as an immense red-hot 'avalanche', as they termed it, swept down the flanks of Pelee and across the ruins of St. Pierre to the sea...Hardly had the crimson glow of the 'avalanche' faded than a cloud shaped itself against the starlit sky...It rushed foward over the water...boiling and changing its form every instant...When the cloud was about a mile from the scientists, they could see...the cloud rose from the sea and passed directly over the heads of the men. Stones, some as large as chestnuts, rained down on the boat, then came a shower of smaller, pea-shaped pellets, and finally a downpour of dry, gray ashes. The air smelled faintly of sulphuric acid..." (Which is also strongly reminiscent of the "Sodom and Gomorrah" story, again...)
But back to the description of the "pillar of cloud by day, pillar of fire by night"... "Hovey and several others had observed...what they believed to be a growing cone of volcanic debris inside the crater...by May 31...[estimated height of] 1,440 feet..."
"By June 27, the cone had risen above the rim of the crater. On July 6, Jaggar reported seeing the cone, whose summit sported a large monolith shaped like a shark's dorsal fin...The dome's famous dorsal fin...was destroyed in the July 9 blast observed by Anderson and Flett. But in mid-October...another gigantic shaft of solidified lava rising from the dome in the crater of L'Etang Sec...The spine...was 350 to 500 feet thick at its base...At night, the spine glowed with a tracery of red incandescent lines, and frequently a luminous spot could be seen at its tip...it rose at such an astonishing rate, often as much as 50 feet a day, that it continued to grow taller. By the end of November, the "Tower of Pelee" had reached a height of 800 feet, and after seven months it soared 1,090 feet above the crater's mouth. At its maximum height it was twice as tall as the Washington Monument and of an immensity equal in volume to the Great Pyramid of Egypt....
...by September 1903 it had collapsed into a mass of rubble..."
Can you see what this must have looked like from a distance of 10 - 20 miles? A "pillar" of smoke - "cloud" by day, and by night??? The glowing, 1,000-foot-tall "spine"... "Pillar of fire by night"... DEFINITELY a volcano!! If you paid any attention to the eruption of Mt. Saint Helens, you will recall that its appearance BY DAY was that of a "pillar of smoke/cloud"...
So much for the 'scientific' understanding of the 'god' of the bible - that's THREE scriptures that strongly indicate, if not CLEARLY describe - in primitive, ignorant tribesmens' terms - volcanic eruptions!
Read. A. Quote.
Harrat ar Rahah is the northernmost of a series of Quaternary volcanic fields paralleling the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia. The olivine basaltic volcanic field of Harrat ar Raha lies south of the Plain of El-'Hisma, south of the town of Tabuk. There are fewer young volcanoes in Harrat ar Rahah than in other harrats (lava fields) to the south. Harrat ar Rahah is erosionally divided into two segments and is about 35 km wide at its broadest extent on the west, narrowing down to less than a kilometer in width at the divide at Matar. Lava flows are more numerous in the southern segment, where they rise up to 550 m above the Cambrian sandstone plain. On the southern and SW sides the sandstones and the basaltic lava fields are dissected, and lava flows traveled mainly to the NE. Neumann van Padang (1963) in the Catalog of Active Volcanoes of the World speculated that the Israelite account in Exodus 19:16-18 might refer to an eruption from Harrat ar Rahah
The second event, proved by Eduard Meyer, is that these Jews on their return from Egypt united with tribes nearly related to them, in the country bordering on Palestine, the Sinai peninsula and Arabia, and that there, in a fertile spot called Qades, they accepted under the influence of the Arabian Medianites a new religion, the worship of the volcano god Jahve. Soon after this, they were ready to conquer Canaan.14” 14 Freud, p. 74
--- SUPORTING SCRIPTURE --
-- EXODUS --
23 And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven and the LORD sent thunder and hail and the fire ran along upon the ground and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt.'
-- DEUTERONOMY --
* Deuteronomy 13:13-19
"Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him."
* Deuteronomy 7:4
4 for they will turn your children away from following me to serve other gods, and the LORD’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you.
* Deuteronomy 29:24
24 All the nations will ask: “Why has the LORD done this to this land? Why this fierce, burning anger?”
* Deuteronomy 29:27
27 Therefore the LORD’s anger burned against this land, so that he brought on it all the curses written in this book.
* Deuteronomy 32:22
22 For a fire will be kindled by my wrath, one that burns down to the realm of the dead below. It will devour the earth and its harvests and set afire the foundations of the mountains.
-- HABAKKUK --
* Habakkuk 3:3-7
3 God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran.[b]His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth.
4 His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden.
5 Plague went before him; pestilence followed his steps.
6 He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble.
The ancient mountains crumbled and the age-old hills collapsed— but he marches on forever.
7 I saw the tents of Cushan in distress,
the dwellings of Midian in anguish.
* Habakkuk 3:11-12
11 Sun and moon stood still in the heavens
at the glint of your flying arrows,
at the lightning of your flashing spear.
12 In wrath you strode through the earth
and in anger you threshed the nations.
-- ZECHARIAH --
* Zechariah 6:1
1 And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass.
* Zechariah 14:4-
On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. 5 You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake[a] in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him. 6 On that day there will be neither sunlight nor cold, frosty darkness. 7 It will be a unique day—a day known only to the Lord—with no distinction between day and night. When evening comes, there will be light.
* Zechariah 2:3 -13
3 While the angel who was speaking to me was leaving, another angel came to meet him
4 and said to him: “Run, tell that young man, ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it.
5 And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the LORD, ‘and I will be its glory within.’
6 “Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the LORD, “for I have scattered you to the four winds of heaven,” declares the LORD.
7 “Come, Zion! Escape, you who live in Daughter Babylon!”
8 For this is what the LORD Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye—
9 I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them.[b] Then you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me.
10 “Shout and be glad, Daughter Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you,” declares the LORD.
11 “Many nations will be joined with the LORD in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me to you.
12 The LORD will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem.
13 Be still before the LORD, all mankind, because he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.”
* Zechariah 5
1 Then the angel who talked with me returned and woke me up, like someone awakened from sleep.
2 He asked me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a solid gold lampstand with a bowl at the top and seven lamps on it, with seven channels to the lamps.
3 Also there are two olive trees by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left.”
4 I asked the angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?”
5 He answered, “Do you not know what these are?” “No, my lord,” I replied.
6 So he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.
7 “What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’”
8 Then the word of the LORD came to me:
9 “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me to you.
10 “Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the LORD that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone[a] in the hand of Zerubbabel?”
11 Then I asked the angel, “What are these two olive trees on the right and the left of the lampstand?” 12 Again I asked him, “What are these two olive branches beside the two gold pipes that pour out golden oil?”
13 He replied, “Do you not know what these are?” “No, my lord,” I said.
14 So he said, “These are the two who are anointed to[b] serve the Lord of all the earth.”
* 5 For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.
-- Zephaniah --
* Zephaniah 3:8
The Lord declares, “Just wait! One day I will stand up as a witness. I have decided to gather nations, to bring kingdoms together, and to pour my rage, my burning anger, on them. The whole land will be consumed by my fiery fury
* Zephaniah 1:18
Their silver and their gold will not be able to rescue them on the day of the Lord’s overflowing fury.The whole earth will be consumed by his fiery anger, because he will put an end, a frightening end, to those who live on earth.
-- MICAH --
* From Micah 1:2-7
2 Hear, you peoples, all of you,
listen, earth and all who live in it,
that the Sovereign LORD may bear witness against you,
the Lord from his holy temple.
3 Look! The LORD is coming from his dwelling place;
he comes down and treads on the heights of the earth.
4 The mountains melt beneath him
and the valleys split apart,
like wax before the fire,
like water rushing down a slope.
5 All this is because of Jacob’s transgression,
because of the sins of the people of Israel.
6 “Therefore I will make Samaria a heap of rubble,
a place for planting vineyards.
I will pour her stones into the valley
and lay bare her foundations.
7 All her idols will be broken to pieces;
all her temple gifts will be burned with fire;
I will destroy all her images.
* Micah 4:2
2 Many nations will come and say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
to the temple of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways,
so that we may walk in his paths.”
* Micah 4:7
7 I will make the lame my remnant,
those driven away a strong nation.
The LORD will rule over them in Mount Zion
from that day and forever.

* Ezekiel 21:33-37
As for you, son of man, prophesy: Thus says the Lord GOD against the Ammonites and their insults: A sword, a sword is drawn for slaughter, burnished to consume and to flash lightning, because you planned with false visions and lying divinations to lay it on the necks of depraved and wicked men whose day has come when their crimes are at an end. Return it to its sheath! In the place where you were created, in the land of your origin, I will judge you. I will pour out my indignation upon you, breathing my fiery wrath upon you, I will hand you over to ravaging men, artisans of destruction. You shall be fuel for the fire, your blood shall flow throughout the land. You shall not be remembered, for I, the LORD, have spoken.
* Ezekiel 22:20

-- JOEL --
* Joel 2:1-11
1 Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy mountain.
Let all who live in the land tremble,
for the day of the LORD is coming.
It is close at hand—
2 a day of darkness and gloom,
a day of clouds and blackness.
Like dawn spreading across the mountains
a large and mighty army comes,
such as never was in ancient times
nor ever will be in ages to come.
3Before them fire devours,
behind them a flame blazes.
Before them the land is like the garden of Eden,
behind them, a desert waste—
nothing escapes them.
4 They have the appearance of horses;
they gallop along like cavalry.
5With a noise like that of chariots
they leap over the mountaintops,
like a crackling fire consuming stubble,
like a mighty army drawn up for battle.
6 At the sight of them, nations are in anguish;
every face turns pale.
7 They charge like warriors;
they scale walls like soldiers.
They all march in line,
not swerving from their course.
8 They do not jostle each other;
each marches straight ahead.
They plunge through defenses
without breaking ranks.
9 They rush upon the city;
they run along the wall.
They climb into the houses;
like thieves they enter through the windows.
10Before them the earth shakes,
the heavens tremble,
the sun and moon are darkened,
and the stars no longer shine.
11 The LORD thunders
at the head of his army;
his forces are beyond number,
and mighty is the army that obeys his command.
The day of the LORD is great;
it is dreadful.
Who can endure it?
* Joel 2: 28-32
28 “And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
29Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
30 I will show wonders in the heavens
and on the earth,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
31 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.
32 And everyone who calls
on the name of the LORD will be saved;
for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
there will be deliverance,
as the LORD has said,
even among the survivors
whom the LORD calls.[c]
* Joel 3: 14-16
14 Multitudes, multitudes
in the valley of decision!
For the day of the LORD is near
in the valley of decision.
15 The sun and moon will be darkened,
and the stars no longer shine.
16 The LORD will roar from Zion
and thunder from Jerusalem;
the earth and the heavens will tremble.
But the LORD will be a refuge for his people,
a stronghold for the people of Israel.

-- AMOS --
AMOS 9: 5-10
5The Lord, the Lord Almighty,
he who touches the earth and it melts,
and all who live in it mourn
the whole land rises like the Nile,
then sinks like the river of Egypt—
6he who builds his lofty palaceb in the heavens
and sets its foundationc on the earth,
who calls for the waters of the sea
and pours them out over the face of the land—
the Lord is his name.
7“Are not you Israelites
the same to me as the Cu@!$%#esd?”
declares the Lord.
“Did I not bring Israel up from Egypt,
the Philistines from Caphtore
and the Arameans from Kir?
8“Surely the eyes of the Sovereign Lord
are on the sinful kingdom.
I will destroy it
from the face of the earth—
yet I will not totally destroy
the house of Jacob,”
declares the Lord.
9“For I will give the command,
and I will shake the house of Israel
among all the nations
as grain is shaken in a sieve,
and not a pebble will reach the ground.
10All the sinners among my people
will die by the sword,
all those who say,
‘Disaster will not overtake or meet us.’
-- PSALMS --
* Psalms 2:10-12
10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;
be warned, you rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear
and celebrate his rule with trembling.
12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry
and your way will lead to your destruction,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
* Psalms 3:3-4

my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

and he answers me from his holy mountain.
* Psalms 7:6-13
6 Arise, Lord, in your anger;
rise up against the rage of my enemies.
Awake, my God; decree justice.
7 Let the assembled peoples gather around you,
while you sit enthroned over them on high.
8 Let the Lord judge the peoples.
Vindicate me, Lord, according to my righteousness,
according to my integrity, O Most High.
9 Bring to an end the violence of the wicked
and make the righteous secure—
you, the righteous God
who probes minds and hearts.
10 My shield[d] is God Most High,
who saves the upright in heart.
11 God is a righteous judge,
a God who displays his wrath every day.

he[e] will sharpen his sword;
he will bend and string his bow.
13 He has prepared his deadly weapons;
he makes ready his flaming arrows.

and I have been saved from my enemies.
4 The cords of death entangled me;
the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
5 The cords of the grave coiled around me;
the snares of death confronted me.
6 In my distress I called to the LORD;
I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came before him, into his ears.
7The earth trembled and quaked,
and the foundations of the mountains shook;
they trembled because he was angry.
8Smoke rose from his nostrils;
consuming fire came from his mouth,
burning coals blazed out of it. 9
He parted the heavens and came down;
dark clouds were under his feet.
10 He mounted the cherubim and flew;
he soared on the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him—
the dark rain clouds of the sky.
12Out of the brightness of his presence
with hailstones and bolts of lightning.
13The LORD thundered from heaven;
the voice of the Most High resounded.
14He shot his arrows and scattered the enemy,

the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon leap like a calf,
Sirion[b] like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the Lord strikes
with flashes of lightning.
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;
the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaks[c]
and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”

Though the Lord’s enemies are like the flowers of the field,
they will be consumed, they will go up in smoke.

he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
8 Come and see what the Lord has done,

at the mountain where God chooses to reign,
where the Lord himself will dwell forever?
* Psalms 77:16-19
16 The waters saw you, God,
the waters saw you and writhed;

their produce to the locust.
47 He destroyed their vines with hail
and their sycamore-figs with sleet.
48 He gave over their cattle to the hail,
their livestock to bolts of lightning.
49 He unleashed against them his hot anger,
his wrath, indignation and hostility—
* Psalms 83:13-16
13 Make them like tumbleweed, my God,
like chaff before the wind.

so that they will seek your name.

-- LAMENTATIONS --
12 “Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by?
Look around and see.
Is any suffering like my suffering
that was inflicted on me,
that the LORD brought on me
in the day of his fierce anger?
13 “From on high he sent fire,
sent it down into my bones.
He spread a net for my feet
and turned me back.
He made me desolate,
faint all the day long.
* Lamentations 4:11 The LORD has given full vent to his wrath; he has poured out his fierce anger. He kindled a fire in Zion that consumed her foundations.
-- NAHUM --
* Nahum 1
1 A prophecy concerning Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elko.
2 The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on his foes and vents his wrath against his enemies.3 The LORD is slow to anger but great in power; the LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet. 4 He rebukes the sea and dries it up; he makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither and the blossoms of Lebanon fade. 5 The mountains quake before him and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, the world and all who live in it.6 Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his fierce anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; the rocks are shattered before him.
* Nahum 1:5-6
The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
* Nahum 1:7-15
7 The LORD is good,
a refuge in times of trouble.
He cares for those who trust in him,
8but with an overwhelming flood
he will make an end of Nineveh;
he will pursue his foes into the realm of darkness.
9 Whatever they plot against the LORD
he will bring[a] to an end;
trouble will not come a second time.
10 They will be entangled among thorns
and drunk from their wine;
they will be consumed like dry stubble.[b]
11 From you, Nineveh, has one come forth
who plots evil against the LORD
and devises wicked plans.
12 This is what the LORD says:
“Although they have allies and are numerous,
they will be destroyed and pass away.
Although I have afflicted you, Judah,
I will afflict you no more.
13 Now I will break their yoke from your neck
and tear your shackles away.”
14 The LORD has given a command concerning you, Nineveh:
“You will have no descendants to bear your name.
I will destroy the images and idols
that are in the temple of your gods.
I will prepare your grave,
for you are vile.”
15 Look, there on the mountains,
the feet of one who brings good news,
who proclaims peace!
Celebrate your festivals, Judah,
and fulfill your vows.
No more will the wicked invade you;
they will be completely destroyed.[c]
* Nahum 2:13
13 “I am against you,”
declares the LORD Almighty.
“I will burn up your chariots in smoke,
and the sword will devour your young lions.
I will leave you no prey on the earth.
-- Qur'an: --
Abdullah Yusuf Ali in his commentary (1934) writes, "The fate of the Madyan people is described in the same terms as that of the Thamūd in verse 78 above. An earthquake seized them by night, and they were buried in their own homes, no longer to vex Allah's earth. But a supplementary detail is mentioned in [Qur'an] 26:189, 'the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom,' which may be understood to mean a shower of ashes and cinders accompanying a volcanic eruption. Thus a day of terror drove them into their homes, and the earthquake finished them." (The volcano Hala-'l Badr is in Madyan.)
The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers.
When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)?
"I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.
"So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.
"No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).
"Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others).
"And weigh with the true and straight balance.
"And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land.
"And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old."
They said: "You are only one of those bewitched!
"You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars!
"So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!"
He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do."
But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day.
* Tafsir al-Jalalayn 26:189 But they denied him, so they were seized by the chastisement of the day of the shade (al-zulla) — a cloud which gave them shade when they suffered a bout of extreme heat but which then rained down fire on them and they were incinerated. Assuredly it was the chastisement of a tremendous day.
“No one should sail on the sea except the one who is going to perform Hajj or ‘Umrah , or the one who is going to fight in Allah's path for under the sea there is a fire, and under the fire there is a sea. ”
* [Surat At-Tur: 1-8] "By the Mount . And by the Book Inscribed. In parchment unrolled. And by the Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parallel to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angles). And by the roof raised high (i.e. the heaven). And by the burning sea. Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass. There is none that can avert it.
* (al-Hashr, 21) Had We sent down this Quran on a mountain, you would surely have seen it humbling itself and rending asunder by the fear of Allah. Such are the parables which We put forward to mankind that they may reflect.
